The Warriors were hurting after missing the chance to win an 11th game a row last time out against the Brooklyn Nets but their home fans were treated to a memorable moment when Curry netted the winning points with 2.1 seconds left.

The point guard, who contributed 17 points and seven rebounds in total, came off a pick-and-roll with David Lee to arch his jumper over Celtics centre Kris Humphries. It was a seventh straight defeat for Boston.

Brooklyn needed overtime to edge out the Miami Heat 104-95 and clinch their fifth straight victory.

Joe Johnson scored 32 points with Shaun Livingston finishing on 19 points after shining as a replacement for injured point guard Deron Williams.

It was a frustrating night for LeBron James, who netted 36 points and contributed seven rebounds for the Heat only to foul out with 36 seconds remaining in the first overtime. That allowed the Nets back in and they duly took the win.

Luol Deng enjoyed a winning debut with the Cleveland Cavaliers as Kyrie Irving scored 25 points in a 113-102 victory over the Utah Jazz.

Former Chicago Bull Deng contributed 10 points while his old team were beating the Milwaukee Bucks 81-72 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Biggest-ever win

The Los Angeles Lakers' troubles were put into stark relief by their closest neighbours as the Clippers enjoyed their biggest-ever victory in the city rivalry, winning 123-87 behind 33 points and 12 rebounds from Blake Griffin.

Darren Collison added 20 points and seven assists as the Clippers recorded their fifth win in six, improving to 17-3 at home.

The Detroit Pistons snapped a six-game losing streak by coming from behind to beat the Philadelphia 76ers 114-104 at the Wells Fargo Center. Josh Smith scored 22 points while Brandon Jennings made four three-pointers in the second half.

David West and CJ Watson starred at the Indiana Pacers dispatched the Washington Wizards 93-66 and the Atlanta Hawks rallied to secure an 83-80 victory over the Houston Rockets.

Twenty-six points in 27 minutes from Nikola Pekovic helped the Minnesota Timberwolves ease to a 119-92 win over the Charlotte Bobcats with Kevin Love and Kevin Martin each contributing 19 points at the Target Center.

Mike Conley scored 31 points as the Memphis Grizzlies overtook the Phoenix Suns to claim a 104-99 victory and the Dallas Mavericks took a comfortable 107-90 win against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Elsewhere the Sacramento Kings, who beat the Portland Trail Blazers last time out, won back-to-back home games for the first time since last March by dispatching the Orlando Magic 103-83.
