LeBron James: Failed to match his record-breaking heroics
LeBron James: Failed to match his record-breaking heroics

The Houston Rockets found a way to keep LeBron James in check as they edged out the Miami Heat 106-103.

James, who had complained before the game of being tired following his personal and franchise best 61 points against the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday, was held to 22 by the Rockets. Only three of his points came in the second half, and he missed a desperation three-point attempt at the buzzer.

Houston certainly took full advantage as Dwight Howard collected 22 points and 16 rebounds and James Harden scored 21.

The Indiana Pacers suffered only a fourth home loss of the season as Klay Thompson's jump-shot with 0.6 seconds left gave the Golden State Warriors a 98-96 victory.

Thompson scored 16 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter while Stephen Curry added 19 for the Warriors, who have won five of their last six.

Triple double

It was the end of a five-game winning streak for Indiana, who were led by 27 points from David West.

Kevin Durant poured in 42 points and Russell Westbrook collected his eighth career triple double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists as the Oklahoma City Thunder routed the Philadelphia 76ers 125-92.

Westbrook achieved the feat despite not featuring in the fourth quarter.

Danny Green's 24 points led the San Antonio Spurs to a 122-101 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers - their fourth consecutive win.

The Los Angeles Clippers have won five in a row after beating the Phoenix Suns 104-96 behind 28 points from Matt Barnes.

The New Orleans Pelicans hung on in the fourth quarter to claim a 132-125 road win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Anthony Davis and Eric Gordon scored 28 points apiece for New Orleans, who were up 67-51 at half-time and led by as many as 21 before the Lakers cut the gap to three with 18 seconds left.
