Paul James, the head coach of the Wolves, emphasised playing as a team before the first leg and his team certainly delivered on Friday.
Having lost three of the five games to Sheffield this season, Wolves came out strong and dominated end-to-end.
The visitors broke away in the middle of the opening quarter after a 10-0 run to lead 20-12 following three-pointers by Zaire Taylor and Alex Owumi.
Wolves went on to increase the gap to double figures by the end of the quarter, with Owumi draining one more from deep as the buzzer sounded to make it 26-16.
The guests continued dominating early in the second quarter, with the margin growing to as many as 14 points, and another buzzer-beating three-pointer by Owumi allowed Wolves to finish the first half with a 43-34 advantage.
The visitors pushed on after the interval to see the gap grow to 53-37 but the Sharks managed to string together a couple of baskets in a row to get within 11 points, as Jeremie Simmons' bucket made it 55-44.
However, the Wolves responded to finish the period with a 60-44 advantage and, with the game long out of hand, Sharks did not do themselves any favours in the fourth quarter in terms of saving the tie altogether, as Worcester went on to further increase the lead, finishing the first leg with a massive 20-point margin.
Having made seven three-pointers, Owumi finished the game with 28 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Wolves. Taylor added 21 points, while Will Creekmore finished the game with 11 points and nine boards.
