Victor Cabedo: Has died following a training crash
Euskaltel-Euskadi rider Victor Cabedo has been killed in a training accident, his team have confirmed.
Team spokesman Jesus Aizkorbe said that the 23-year-old died after being involved in a collision with a vehicle on a public highway north of Valencia.
The Spaniard, who competed in the Tour of Britain recently, rode for Orbea Continental last year, when he won a stage of the Vuelta a Asturias.
Aizkorbe said that Cabedo was "a professional rider with a lot of promise who was killed by means that could have been avoided".
Team physio Josu Larrazabal wrote on Twitter: "Victor Cabedo has passed away after being knocked down, enough already. A big hug for his family. Rest in peace."
