Robert Kiserlovski signs for Tinkoff-Saxo as Russian team continue recruitment drive

Tinkoff-Saxo have continued their recruitment drive by securing the signature of Croatian climber Robert Kiserlovski on a two-year deal.
The 28-year-old will join from Trek Factory Racing on January 1 and becomes the Russian team’s sixth new acquisition for the 2015 campaign.
Kiserlovski has twice finished tenth at the Giro d’Italia, including this year, and was integral in helping then team-mate Chris Horner claim overall victory at last year’s Vuelta a Espana.

He is set to take a up a domestique role at Tinkoff-Saxo, supporting the likes of Alberto Contador at stage races and Grand Tours.
'Proven rider'
“I'm really happy to join a team that has so many prominent athletes,” Kiserlovski said. “I like the teamwork and I'm looking forward to the next two seasons. I will be ready every time a great champion like Alberto Contador needs my help.”
Tinkoff-Saxo owner Oleg Tinkov said: “Robert is a very proven rider and a strong climber. We need a rider like him in our squad and I’m pleased to welcome him on the best cycling team in the world.”
Kiserlovski follows Peter Sagan, Juraj Sagan, Maciej Bodnar, Ivan Basso and Pavel Brutt in signing for Tinkoff-Saxo.
Team manager Bjarne Riis said: “I look forward to having Robert on the team. He will be important in the Grand Tours and throughout the season to bolster our team in hilly and mountainous terrain."
