Dario Cataldo signs for Astana to be climbing domestique for Vincenzo Nibali and Fabio Aru

Dario Cataldo spent two years with Team Sky
Astana have signed Italian time-triallist and climber Dario Cataldo from Team Sky.
The 29-year-old will ride for the Kazakh squad in 2015 in support of leaders Vincenzo Nibali and Fabio Aru at stage races and Grand Tours.
Cataldo has spent two years with Team Sky and claimed one victory, in the individual time trial at the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali in March.
Astana general manager Alexandr Vinokourov said: “He will be a great gregario [lead climbing domestique] for Aru as well as Nibali.
“On top of that, he knows the ins and outs of doing a good team time trial. Make no mistake, Dario Cataldo is a very important addition for the team.”
Cataldo will join Astana on January 1.
