Sky and British Cycling have announced the locations and dates of this year’s traffic-free Sky Ride Big Bike events.
Back for a seventh year running, the events take over a town or city centre so cyclists of all ages and abilities can get together and discover the joy of getting out on their bikes.
With 15 Sky Ride Big Bike events spread from Plymouth all the way to Newcastle, thousands of cyclists will have the opportunity to ride with friends and family on some stunning traffic-free routes.
And in 106 towns and cities across Britain, Sky Ride Local will offer the opportunity for people to gain more confidence to get around by bike through 1,900 friendly guided rides.
Team Sky riders have frequently made appearances at Sky Ride events since the team’s inception in 2010, with our riders again set to be on hand at select locations in 2015. Full details to be confirmed.
Together British Cycling and Sky have inspired over 1.5 million more people to get on their bikes since the partnership was formed in 2008.

Sky Ride Ambassador Sir Chris Hoy said: “Sky Ride is already making a real difference by showing people how great it is to get around by bike. Our rides offer something for everyone, whatever their age or ability – from our traffic-free Sky Ride Big Bike Events in cities across England to our group rides guided by locally trained Ride Leaders.
“Over 100,000 people attended Sky Ride events last year so we know that it’s a great way to discover your home town on a bike. If more of us are encouraged to get out of the car and on to the bike for shorter journeys, we’d be a huge step closer to a healthier and greener Britain.”
