Kilkenny goalkeeper Eoin Murphy is a doubt for Kilkenny's Leinster Championship opener, after picking up a knee injury in action for his club, Glenmore.

All-Star shotstopper Murphy is widely regarded as one of the best in the business, and should he miss out, Brian Cody will have a serious selection headache.

Murphy is awaiting the results of a second scan on his knee.

The Cats already have a number of fitness concerns, with full-backs Conor Delaney and Huw Lawlor, half-back Cillian Buckley and midfielder James Maher among those struggling. However, they will welcome back the Ballyhale Shamrocks contingent, fresh from their All-Ireland club title.
