Braehead Clan exacted revenge for their cup defeat to Fife Flyers by beating their Scottish rivals 4-3 in the Elite League at the Braehead Arena on Friday.
Following their 4-0 reverse in Fife, Braehead celebrated their return to home ice with a hard-fought 4-3 win over the Flyers.
It was the Flyers, though, who took the lead through Ned Lukacevic but Clan restored parity before the break Scott Pitt’s shit soaring past Kevin Regan in the visitors’ goal.
Ryan Finnerty’s Clan then took the lead in the second when a deflection fell into the path of Neil Trimm, who slotted home with ease before Jamie Milam drew the Flyers level once again.
Pitt’s second of the night, a bullet of a shot, restored Clan’s lead and Tristan Harper added a fourth in the final period as Braehead took advantage of some slack defending.
Scott Fleming halved the deficit for the visitors to set up a thrilling finale, but Braehead held their nerve to take the two points.
