NHL: San Jose Sharks leave it to late to beat Winnipeg Jets

Marc-Edouard Vlasic scored the winner with 2.9 seconds remaining to give the San Jose Sharks a 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets.
The Sharks took the lead in the opening period after Brent Burns scored on a powerplay to record his 11th goal of the season.
Hosts Winnipeg were back on level terms in the same period though after Andrew Ladd struck, also on a powerplay.
But San Jose were not to be denied as they regained the lead when Melker Karlsson deftly diverted in a shot from the point for his third goal of the season.
Once again the Jets drew level, courtesy of Jay Harrison's power play goal, to make it 2-2 in the third period.
Harrison's shot from the high slot on the power play evaded the pads of Sharks' Finnish goalkeeper Antti Niemi.
That was not to be enough to take the match into overtime, however, as Vlasic pounced to net the game-winning goal.
Joe Pavelski won an offensive zone face-off to Logan Couture, who set up Vlasic to score past Jets' keeper Michael Hutchinson.
