England Women recorded their first win of the Champions Trophy after beating Japan 3-1 in Argentina.
England opened the scoring when Hollie Webb struck from a penalty corner to give her side the lead in the 5th-8th play-off match. Sophie Bray then doubled the scoreline when she latched onto a ball and fired home while on the move.
Japan got back into the game through Akane Shibata - who had received her 100th cap before the match.
England, who had failed to win in the tournament up to this point, looked a far more structured side and this was made clear when Sarah Haycroft was released down the right and smashed the ball home past the Japan 'keeper Ryoko Oie.
After the game Haycroft, said: "That was my first goal for England and it feels great. We aimed to get width in that game and we did that - it meant I got the ball from Lily (Owsley) in a lot of space."
England's captain Sam Quek added: "We have been close in each game but we needed more consistency. We came here in the right mindset and did the right things. There was a danger that we would panic when Japan scored to make it 2-1, but we kept our heads."
England will play in the 5th-6th play-off on Sunday live on Sky Sports.
