Former Worcester Wolves player impressed on week-long contract

The Guildford Heat have announced the signing of Shaun Durant for the rest of the British Basketball League season. The London-born Durant was handed a week-long trial by the Heat and immediately made his debut against the Leicester Riders. He also featured following day against Milton Keynes Lions before playing a starring role in the friendly against the LSBU Brixton Topcats last weekend, finishing as the leading rebounder with 12 boards in 22 minutes of action. Durant has previously played three full seasons in the BBL and led the league for rebounds one year during his time with the Worcester Wolves. "I am really excited that we have agreed a deal with Shaun," Guildford head coach Creon Raftopoulos said. "The combination of Shaun Durant, Mike Martin and Mike Copeland gives us a very strong three man rotation at the forward position. "In the short time he has been with Guildford Heat, I have been impressed with his work ethic and commitment to helping us to get the Heat back on track."
