Dallas talisman Dirk Nowitzki starred yet again with 29 points as the Mavericks beat the Miami Heat 112-103 on Thursday night to lead 3-2 in the NBA finals. Nowitzki was again the key man as his team moved to within one victory of a first championship title. Despite suffering from flu Nowitzki has carried his superb play-off form into the finals and his efforts here included the go-ahead score in the final quarter. Dallas now has the chance to clinch victory in the series if they can win in Florida in Sunday's game six. On the other side Miami did have one crumb of comfort with the return to form of superstar LeBron James. LeBron had endured a miserable night in game four, but registered his seventh play-off triple double here - and the first by a Heat player - with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Dwayne Wade also scored 23 points for the Heat.
