The cancellation means Lindsey Vonn - who tore knee ligaments in a crash at the world championships in Schladming last month - takes the individual title by a solitary point.
Maze, however, has already clinched the overall crown and her current total of 2,254 points is already a new World Cup record.
The Slovenian could still take the individual titles in the other three disciplines, with a super-G race scheduled to take place at the same venue on Thursday.
Vonn, meanwhile, captures the 17th World Cup title of her career, taking her past Austrian Anne-Marie Moser Proell in the all-time list. It is her sixth success in downhill.
