Alcott represented her country in four Winter Olympics, her final appearance coming in this year's games in Sochi, where she finished 19th.
The 31-year-old enjoyed five top-10 World Cup finishes and is the only British skier to have won a World Cup giant slalom run, reaching a career-high ranking of No 8 in the world.
But she has decided to call time on competitive racing, announcing her decision via social media.
"Skiing will still be a huge part of my life but to do that I must sadly bow out of racing," Alcott tweeted.
The British Alpine Championships take place from 29 March-7 April in Meribel, France.
