Cleveland Indians claimed a 5-1 win over Kansas City Royals as Corey Kluber claimed a career-high 11 strikeouts.

Cleveland struck five runs in the fifth innings to set themselves up for victory, with Kluber becoming the first Indians pitcher to have at least 11 strikeouts with no earned runs or walks in a complete game since Len Barker did so on May 15, 1981.
Elsewhere, Cincinatti Reds saw off Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1 and Detroit Tigers rapped out 13 hits, including a Rajai Davis home run, to earn a series split against the Chicago White Sox as they won 7-4.
Defensive-minded left fielder Sam Fuld hit two RBI doubles as Minnesota Twins beat Tampa Bay Rays 9-7 while Bartolo Colon claimed eight strikeouts in seven innings as New York Mets beat St Louis Cardinals 4-1.
Arizona Diamondbacks claimed a 5-2 win over Chicago Cubs while San Diego Padres needed an extra innings to beat Washington Nationals 4-3.
Baltimore Orioles eased to an 11-4 win over Toronto Blue Jays after a five-run seventh innings and four runs in the eighth saw them come from behind to claim victory.
New York Yankees hit Boston Red Sox to take a 14-5 win, while Oakland Athletics beat Houston Astros 10-1 and Philadelphia Phillies beat Los Angeles Dodgers 7-3.
