The football season is officially up and running and so is Soccer AM! Gracing the orange sofas this week will be one of the all-time top scorers in the Premier League, Andrew Cole! The former Manchester United and Newcastle star netted 187 top-flight goals, second only to Alan Shearer, in a career which spanned almost 20 years. After brief spells with Arsenal and Fulham, Cole joined Bristol City in 1992 where his average of almost a goal every other game caught the eye of scouts up and down the country. Newcastle eventually took the plunge and landed their man in a deal worth £1.75million - a bargain as Cole's 12 goals in as many games spearheaded their return to the top flight. His debut Premier League season saw him score an impressive 34 goals in 40 games for the Magpies, and was voted the PFA Young Player of the Year... not a bad way to announce yourself on the biggest stage! In January 1995 Cole was sold to Manchester United for what was a British record transfer fee of £7million to the dismay of the Toon Army. It proved to be a good move for both Cole and United as he went on to win five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and a Champions League title in six incredible years at Old Trafford. Further success followed at Blackburn Rovers where within two months of his arrival he picked up a League Cup medal after scoring the winning goal in the final against Tottenham Hotspur. Spells at Fulham, Manchester City, Portsmouth, Sunderland and Nottingham Forest followed before in October 2008 he brought down the curtain on a glittering career which he will no doubt be reflecting on.

Wit

Running down the tunnel and onto the studio floor next will be comedian Eddie Kadi! Born in the DR Congo, Kadi moved to the UK at the age eight and is renowned for his quick wit, clean comedy and unpredictable shows. Over the last five years the 27-year-old has earned a host of nominations and awards, including the BECA Award for Best Comedy Newcomer in 2006, while also selling out concerts at the Hammersmith Apollo and Hackney Empire. His biggest show to date is just around the corner, however. On September 4th Kadi will walk out at London's 02 Arena in front of 20,000 fans! It's a huge step up for the Manchester United supporter, but he will feel confident having seen his cult following spawn into a huge fan base which is capable of filling an arena usually occupied by the likes of Madonna, Prince and Bon Jovi. Couple that with the fact he will be sitting next to the man who helped his beloved United win an unprecedented treble and things couldn't be any rosier for the funnyman!
Rapper
Completing this week's line-up will be British rapper Kano! The cousin of the former Charlton defender Jonathan Fortune; Kano was once a promising footballer in his own right. By the age of 13 he had represented Chelsea, West Ham and Norwich, before choosing to pursue a career in music instead. It proved to be a wise decision as the MOBO award-winning artist has gone on to release three albums. His fourth, Method To The Maadness, is out at the end of August and he will be telling us all about it. That wraps up another great line-up of guests but as ever we've got lots of other treats for you including, Pat McGroin with the news, Little and Large, DJ David Ghetto intro-ing our Blackpool fans, Ant and Dec, Unbelievable Tekkers, Skill Skool with Borussia Dortmund, and Millwall's Crossbar Challenge. We'll also see how Tubes got on when he met Darren Bent, and can Kammy Do It when he takes on Georgie Thompson in a Jaffa Cake eating contest!? Tune in to Soccer AM to find out, Saturday, 10am, Sky Sports 2 & Sky One.
