In between jobs!

Blake Harrison told Soccer AM how he and his The Inbetweeners co-stars had to go back to their day jobs after the first series!

Stars return to the daily grind

They may have become household names overnight, but the stars of The Inbetweeners were brought crashing back down to earth after the first series, that's according to Blake Harrison. The Millwall fan, who plays clueless Neil in the sitcom, revealed far from living in the lap of luxury the boys had to return to their day jobs as soon as filming had finished. "It's a great job and everything but for the first series we didn't really get paid a great deal at all," he told Soccer AM. "So (after the first series) we were all just going back to our (other) jobs. "James who plays Jay was fitting kitchens, the guy who plays Simon, Joe Thomas, was tutoring Maths and I was working at the 'Scared Chamber' at Madame Tussauds! "I was just dressed up as an escaped convict with fake blood on my face running around scaring people!"

Film

Along with his unassuming co-stars, the 25-year-old has been responsible for grown men and women giggling hysterically like school girls while reminiscing about their misspent youth. But after three series' the writers decided to call it a day this year, to the disappointment of their growing legion of fans. All is not lost though with a feature length film based on the BAFTA award-winning comedy in the pipelines. And Harrison told Helen and Max that while filming hadn't officially started they had done some 'prep' work! "We did a weekend in Malia which was just a laugh with the lads!" he said. "We did just about a weekends worth of work which will probably accumulate to about 30 seconds worth of footage!

New projects

Away from The Inbetweeners the four stars continue to enhance their reputations with new projects, and none more so than Harrison whose new series, 'The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret' begins this week on More4. The sitcom which also stars David Cross and Will Arnett has received positive reviews and Harrison admitted he was excited to be able to work with the American duo. "There are some great American people in it like David Cross and Will Arnett, which if you know Arrested Development then you'll know those two guys and they're just absolutely brilliant," he said. "There's a lot of Improv work on the show as well so it's great and they're riffing all the time. "It's quite daunting really trying to keep up with someone like David Cross who is renowned for being one of the best Improv comedy people in the world." "He's so brilliant at that that you can't help but learn from someone like him, so I think it's made me a better actor."
