The ultimate stag!

Image: McGuinness: three stags

Paddy McGuinness told Soccer AM about his Wembley stag with Kammy, Ricky Hatton and Ant and Dec!

Comedian's hat-trick of stags!

When he's not entertaining us with his stand-up, Paddy McGuinness can be found hosting the dating show Take Me Out, but judging by his stag do tales, he's the one who should be taking us out! The Bolton fan - who is set to marry Christine Martin in June - found himself with the tough task of organising three stags to incorporate all his mates. But rather than wilt under the pressure, the 36-year-old rose to the challenge and kicked things off with a trip to Wembley with some showbiz pals to see Bolton take on Stoke in the FA Cup Semi-Final! "It was a bit of a mad one really," he told Soccer AM. "I'm having three different stags because I've got lots of mates and you can't mix them all together - at least that's what I said to the missus! "And the first one ended up being one of them 'if Heineken could do stag dos' kind of things, because It was me, Ricky Hatton, Kammy, Dec from Ant and Dec, Jonny Wilkes, Ben Shephard and then Ant joined us later and we just got absolutely smashed! It was fantastic! Hanging out with his friends on a beautiful sunny day at Wembley sounds like the perfect day, but there was one important thing missing... a Bolton win. The Trotters were thrashed 5-0 by Stoke, and McGuinness admitted he was less than confident going into the game. "As we got to near to Wembley I had a look at the Stoke fans and I just felt like 'they going to win this' and I don't know what it was," he said. "The first Bolton fan I saw was unconscious on the floor, so that wasn't a good sign! "And then I got in and in our end we were kind of like a thousand seats shy and I just had a bit of a feeling then, but they were fantastic on the day. "We were rubbish on the day but they were fantastic, so every credit because they went for it."

Tour

The Max and Paddy star's last stand-up tour was two years ago, but after a self-imposed break he is set to return to the stage this autumn. And he told Helen and Max he was itching to get back. "I think that's what it's like with a lot of stand-ups, especially if you're doing telly and what have you," he said. "You do corporate (gigs) now and again and that instant feedback that you get back from the crowd is addictive, and you just can't resist getting back out there. "This one is an arena tour so it's a little bit daunting. But a lot of comedians now do arena tours and when you're on stage you only see the first 10 rows, whether there's 10,000 people there or only a 1,000, so it's not as daunting as you'd think, but it's still a bit scary."
