Kevin Phillips and actors Brendan Coyle, Steve Edge and Phil Davis will all be on this week's show!
Join Helen and Max for the penultimate show of the season
It's the penultimate show of the season, but fear not because judging by this week's star-studded line-up
Soccer AM is aiming to go out with a bang! And here's how:
Kicking things off in the studio this week will be a 38-year-old striker who just won't stop scoring - the one and only Kevin Phillips!
The former Sunderland forward became a free agent last summer after parting ways with Birmingham, but was quickly snapped up by Blackpool boss Ian Holloway in what has proved to be one of the signings of the season.
A shrewd operator in and around the box, Phillips has netted an impressive 16 times this term and has played a key role in guiding the Championship outfit back to Wembley where they will face West Ham in the play-off final.
The Premier League Player of the Season in 1999-2000 with Sunderland, he was unluckily capped just once for England despite his goal scoring exploits with the Black Cats.
With over 270 goals to his name already, Phillips will be hoping to add to his tally in the Premier League with Blackpool next season and we'll be getting the inside track on how the Tangerines's preparations are going for the £90 million game!
New comedy drama
Next down the tunnel will be actors Brendan Coyle and Steve Edge!
Fans of Phoenix Nights (Edge) and Downton Abbey (Coyle) will no doubt be familiar with both men, but they'll be talking about their starring roles in Sky 1's new comedy drama,
Starlings.
Written by Edge and Peep Show actor Matt King (who is also a member of the cast),
Starlings will follow the lives of the Starling family, a typical working class brood living in Derbyshire.
The show, which also has Steve Coogan involved in the role of Executive producer, will air for the first time on Sunday night, and as well as picking their brains about the series we'll be talking football with the boys.
Coyle is the great nephew of Manchester United legend Sir Matt Busby, so it shouldn't come as a great surprise that he's a Red Devil through and through.
Edge, meanwhile, has had very little to smile about this season after seeing his beloved Wolverhampton Wanderers relegated from the Premier League. But with news of a new manager announced this week we'll be finding out if he's feeling more optimistic about the club's future.
BAFTA-nominated
Completing this week's line-up, and making it a trio of actors on the orange sofas this week, will be Phil Davis!
The Essex-born thespian first shot to fame in the cult film Quadrophenia, but has since appeared in a wide range of TV dramas. In 2005 he put in a BAFTA-nominated performance in Vera Drake and starred in the award-winning drama Bleak House.
The Arsenal fan is also known for
ID the iconic football film he directed in 1995 about a group of undercover policemen who infiltrate a hooligan gang.
The film has recently been re-released and the 58-year-old will be telling us all about it, and giving us his thoughts on Arsene Wenger, the Gunners's season and why he's not a fan of international football.
So those are the people that will be entertaining you through to 12pm this Saturday, but as ever there's lots more to look forward to, including Manchester United and City fans in the Luther Blissett stand and Team Mates with City defender Joleon Lescott!
Plus, impersonators Darren Farley and Paul Reid will be giving us an exclusive look at their Euro 2012 song, Frankie Fryer heads to Torquay for Away Days, and Tubes meets former Hull City star Dean Windass!
So tune in for Soccer AM, 10am, Sky Sports 1 HD and Sky1 HD
