Ben Simon's men made a flying start to their play-off campaign with a 6-1 win over the Scottish outfit in the first leg of their quarter-final tie.
Sheffield, the regular-season champions who were presented with their trophy before Tuesday night's game, took full advantage of their home-ice advantage thanks to goals from Robert Dowd, Joey Talbot (2), Rob Globke, Jeff Legue and Neil Clark.
Steve Makway replied for Dundee, who host the return leg on Saturday evening.
