Kane and Taker went head-to-head on Friday night Smackdown

WWE heavyweight champion Undertaker and his brother Kane united to hand out yet another beating for Chavo Guerrero and Edge on the latest edition of Smackdown. The deadly duo were pitted against each other in a match designed by general manager Vickie Guerrero to cost them the titles they claimed at WrestleMania XXIV. The big red machine Kane claimed the ECW championship in Orlando, Florida, with victory over Chavo, while his brother defeated the Rated-R Superstar to maintain his undefeated record on the grandest stage of them all. The GM stipulated that if either brother declined to fight then they would be stripped of their respective titles, but an attempted attack by Edge, Chavo, Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder before the end allowed the brothers of destruction to do what they do best. Chavo and Edge both found themselves brought down to earth with huge chokeslams before double Tombstone Piledrivers made sure they got the message.

Colossus

There was worse to come for Edge's minions though, as Ryder was taken apart by corn-fed colossus Festus on the same night. In perhaps his strongest showing yet, Festus absolutely destroyed Ryder before claiming the easy pinfall against the Rated-R entourage member. Elsewhere Matt Hardy returned to scupper United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter's night, just as he had did in the Money in the Bank Ladder match at 'Mania. Once again it was the Twist of Fate that proved MVP's undoing as Hardy claimed a significant victory in this non-title match. Also on Friday night, WWE Tag Team champion John Morrison delivered a swinging neck breaker to finish off Shannon Moore and ensure the Shaman of Sexy and The Miz got the win over Moore and Jimmy Wang Yang, but The Great Khali made his mark before the foes could leave the ring. The Miz & Morrison were the first to feel the seven-footer's wrath before Yang was pressed high overhead before being tossed to the arena floor and Moore then received a chokeslam before Big Show and Khali again confronted each other.
Divas
Michelle McCool was crowned Smackdown's top Diva, but the first few moments of her reign proved troublesome as first Victoria and second a mysterious blonde came out to attack her. Despite Cherry's efforts to help McCool, she was brutally slammed into the ring post by the blonde. And finally, Russian bruiser Vladimir Kozlov burst onto the SmackDown scene with a crushing victory over Matt Bentley.
