Batista crowned new champ

Stone Cold Steve Austin returned to the ring as Batista snatched the World Heavyweight Championship from Chris Jericho at Cyber Sunday.

Stone Cold Steve Austin returned to the ring as Batista snatched the World Heavyweight Championship from Chris Jericho at Cyber Sunday.

Jericho knew he was going to be up against it when the majority voted in favour of Austin officiating the title match-up.

Since arriving at RAW in the 2008 WWE draft, The Animal has regularly been knocking on the door in the hope of hunting down his fourth World title.

Stone Cold, in his referee's outfit, manipulated the rules prior to the match so that if Jericho got himself disqualified or counted out, he would lose the title.

That stipulation proved crucial as Austin became incapacitated and Jericho suddenly found himself covering a fallen Batista.

Havoc

This brought Shawn Michaels to the ring as a quick stand-in official, however HBK refused to count a pinfall.

This then prompted JBL to make his unwanted presence felt as the Longhorn Loudmouth blasted Michaels, then targeted the challenger and struck Batista over the head with the gold title.

With the match spiraling out of control, the recuperating Randy Orton also slipped into the ring to thrawt The Animal, assaulting Austin who just got back to his feet.

However, as the Legend Killer threatened to wreak more havoc, Stone Cold delivered a shattering Stunner to take Orton out of the equation.

Batista then pounced on Jericho and delivered a powerful Batista Bomb that brought an end to the champ's reign.

Austin swooped to strike the mat three times as Batista celebrated clinching his fourth title in front of an exhausted Phoenix crowd.
