WWE Smackdown: Daniel Bryan beats Wade Barrett in NO DQ match
Daniel Bryan got the better of Wade Barrett on Smackdown - despite Vince McMahon's best efforts.
Last Updated: 19/08/13 2:40pm
Bryan tangled with Wade Barrett in a no disqualification match on Friday night and WWE Chairman McMahon - who has made no secret of the fact he does not want the submission specialist to be WWE Champion - got involved.
He firstly yanked the referee out of the ring when Barrett seemed set to submit to the "Yes!" Lock, and then beckoned Brad Maddox - whose quick count ensured British brawler Barrett pinned Bryan on Monday evening - to the ring to overtake officiating duties.
However, when the Raw General Manager was unintentionally knocked out by a kendo stick wielded by Barrett, McMahon attempted to don the referee's shirt for himself, until Triple H - the referee for Bryan's WWE Title match with John Cena at SummerSlam - intervened.

The Game took charge of the contest which Bryan finally won by pinfall - though the bearded Superstar's celebrations were interrupted by Randy Orton, who signalled that he may attempt to cash in his WWE Championship Money in the Bank briefcase at SummerSlam.
Revenge
Elsewhere, Christian reminded Alberto Del Rio that he will be a big threat in the duo's World Heavyweight Title match in Los Angeles by pinning Damien Sandow and then levelling his SummerSlam opponent with a Killswitch.
Paul Heyman, meanwhile, watched his charge, Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel, conquer Zack Ryder, and then warned CM Punk that Brock Lesnar would be on a revenge mission at the Staples Center following the Second City Saint's vicious assault on Monday Night Raw in Sacramento, California.
Rob Van Dam, Mark Henry and Big Show knocked off The Shield in a six-man tag encounter, while The Miz registered victory over Jack Swagger, and AJ Lee and Layla defeated Kaitlyn and Natalya in an eye-catching Divas contest.
Plus, the Wyatt Family - Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan - administered a torrent of pain on Kane, while Ryback, without a match at the biggest show of the summer, terrorised a WWE stagehand and sent him crashing through a table.
