WWE NXT: Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady beaten by The Vaudevillains in Orlando

Distraction by Legionnaires condemns fan favourites to defeat

Enzo Amore’s long-awaited return to the ring ended in disappointment on Thursday’s NXT.

The New Jersey wrestler has spent the last eight months on the sidelines due to a broken leg, but laced up on his boots at Full Sail University to partner Colin Cassady against The Vaudevillains.

However, Amore and Cassady’s hopes of scooping a victory that would have put them right in the hunt for an NXT Tag Team Title shot were scuppered by The Legionnaires.

Amore busted out some of his boxing moves and then the 7ft Cassady showcased his strength, but before the giant could polish off The Vaudevillains, Marcus Louis and Sylvester Lefort appeared.

The Legionnaires’ distraction allowed Simon Gotch to roll-up Cassady and celebrate with his partner Aiden English, but Louis and Lefort are now two wanted men…

Elsewhere, ecowarrior CJ Parker bested Xavier Woods; Adam Rose overcame Jason Jordan with Party Foul; and Sasha Banks used the backstabber and a crossface to vanquish Alexa Bliss.

Plus, there was a wrestling clinic in NXT’s main event.

Tyson Kidd and Sami Zayn threw everything at each other, including Blue Thunder Bombs, Sharpshooters, dropkicks and moonsaults, but Zayn – who was pinned by Kidd on last week’s show – eventually prevailed, forcing his fellow Canadian to tap out to the Koji Clutch.
