WWE SummerSlam 2014: Bray Wyatt granted rematch with Chris Jericho in Los Angeles
Eater of Worlds has chance to rectify Battleground loss to Y2J
Monday 4 August 2014 18:45, UK
Bray Wyatt will get a second opportunity to beat Chris Jericho after being placed in a match with The Ayatollah of Rock ‘n’ Rolla at SummerSlam.
Wyatt was pinned by Jericho after a Codebreaker when the two grapplers battled at Battleground, but now has a chance of retribution when he meets the veteran again in Los Angeles on August 17.
The Eater of Worlds will be aiming to arrest a recent Sunday-night slump, with his defeat to Jericho inside the Tampa Bay Times Forum the latest in a succession of pay-per-view reverses.
Wyatt lost a Last Man Standing Match to John Cena at Payback before coming up short in his bid to claim the WWE World Heavyweight Title at the Money in the Bank event in Boston.
Jericho, on the other hand, has looked in sparkling form since his return from a year-long sabbatical, besting The Miz and Luke Harper in addition to toppling Wyatt in The Sunshine State on July 20.
And Y2J made his SummerSlam challenge a tad easier on a recent edition of Smackdown when he conquered Erick Rowan to ensure that Wyatt's meaty, overall-wearing disciple would be banned from ringside when he tackles The Man of 1,000 Truths inside the Staples Center.
Wyatt, though, has accrued victories over Cena and Daniel Bryan in 2014 and will be hoping to down another famed Superstar in his City of Angels bout, which was confirmed by WWE Chief Operating Officer, Triple H, on the July 28 episode of Monday Night Raw.
Wyatt and Jericho’s clash will feature on a card which also includes Stephanie McMahon and Brie Bella's grudge bout, John Cena and Brock Lesnar’s tussle for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and a Flag encounter between Jack Swgger and Rusev.
