WWE Raw results: The Authority return to power by firing Ziggler, Ryback and Rowan
Plus Wyatt wins ambulance match
Tuesday 6 January 2015 12:29, UK
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon returned to power by firing Erick Rowan, Ryback and Dolph Ziggler.
The Authority, back in charge of WWE Raw, made life miserable for John Cena’s associates before dishing out P45s at the conclusion of the night.
The ultimate power couple began proceedings by gathering the entire roster in the ring and inserting Seth Rollins, who facilitated their comeback, into the WWE Championship match between Cena and Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.
The Authority reinstated Kane as Director of Operations and sarcastically declared Monday night as ‘John Cena Appreciation Night’ after he was forced to hand them their power back.
You're fired!
It was a disastrous night for Dolph Ziggler. Defending his Intercontinental Championship against Bad News Barrett, he got the pinfall only for Kane to flaunt his newfound power by declaring the match was two out of three falls. Barrett duly pinned Ziggler twice with Kane’s assistance and left as the new champion.
Erick Rowan, another sworn enemy of the Authority, fought Luke Harper with J&J Security as special referees who had no intention of overseeing a fair contest – Rowan’s pinfall attempts were ignored and Harper stole the win.
Ryback took on Seth Rollins only for Kane to interfere again, making it a two-on-one match. The odds were too much for Ryback to overcome and two Rollins’ Curb Stomps sealed a win.
Things would only get worse for Ziggler, Rowan and Ryback as they handed their marching orders by the Authority.
Going to hospital
Elsewhere, Bray Wyatt defeated Dean Ambrose in an ambulance match. A brutal encounter saw Ambrose dive off the ambulance driving his elbow into Wyatt who was prone on a table. Yet, Wyatt would recover to lock Ambrose into the ambulance for victory as stretchers and bandages flew everywhere.
Big Show v Roman Reigns ended in disqualification – Show blasted Reigns with the steel steps. Afterwards, Reigns speared Show with the steps, leaving the giant trapped under them.
The Ascension defeated two local competitors, Natalya beat Nikki Bella and The Miz, Damien Mizdow and Alicia Fox beat The Usos and Naomi. Adam Rose v Big E ended in disqualification.
