British pair Chris Adcock and Imogen Bankier once more defied the odds to seal their place in the final of the Yonex BWF World Championships.
The unfancied Anglo-Scottish duo produced the greatest displays of their careers as they dumped out second seeds Tantowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir 21-16 21-19 in front of a partisan Wembley Arena crowd.
It was the fourth day in succession the unseeded pair had ousted seeded opposition and their victory assured them of at least a silver medal.
They will now play China's top seeds Nan Zhang and Yunlei Zhao for the title on Sunday.
Adcock and Bankier still need to qualify for the London 2012 tournament, which will be held at the same venue, but the huge ranking points they will now accrue will put them well on course.
Emphatic
They started superbly, taking the first four points of the match with some emphatic play.
Yet nerves were still evident as the Britons misjudged a few Indonesian shots to allow their opponents to claw back the deficit and then edge ahead towards the end of the first game.
With Glaswegian Bankier impressive at the net, the home hopefuls hit back and took the opener with a run of five successive points.
They carried that momentum into the second game, again taking the opening four points and forcing their opponents to make errors.
They quickly opened up a 9-3 lead and although Ahmad and Natsir got back within one four times, they did not let their advantage slip and won on their second match point.
Emotion
Both players crashed to the ground with emotion after victory was confirmed by an Indonesian mistake.
Leicester-born Adcock, 22, said: "This is unbelievable. I know it sounds cheesy but it is a dream come true.
"A World Championship final in your own country - it is something you live for and you remember."
In the other events, men's singles top seed Lee Chong Wei secured his place in the final by ending Chen Jin's title defence.
It was another routine victory for Malaysian world number one Lee, who won 21-13 21-9.
Women's singles second seed Wang Yihan of China will play Chinese Taipei's seventh seed Shao Chieh Cheng after respective victories over Wang Xin and Juliane Schenk.
