Jamie Caven's rise to the upper echelons of the darting world has been a real story of success against all the odds.
Aged 18 months he was left with no sight in his right eye after being stung by a bee (which means he can't see where his darts land when he throws them) while he is also diabetic and had his pancreas removed as a teenager.
But in just his fourth year as a professional darter he has climbed into the top 20 in the world, winning another two titles since breaking his duck with a brace during 2009.
The World Youth Masters winner in 1993, Caven's efforts in the last year have seen him take home over £65,000.
This will be his fourth appearance at the worlds - having beaten Wes Newton he lost to Wayne Mardle in round two in 2008, while Mark Walsh and Gary Anderson have since taken his scalp in round one.
