World Cup of Pool: England lose out to Chinese Taipei

Chinese Taipei stormed to a 10-8 victory over England B at Bethnal Green’s York Hall to win the World Cup of Pool for the first time in their history.
Ko Pin Yi and Chang Yu Lung saw off reigning champions England A in the semi-finals and held their nerve against Mark Gray and Daryl Peach in the final to claim the trophy and $60,000 (£40,000) in prize money.
Pin Yi and Yu Lung found themselves trailing early on and at 5-1 down it looked as though England B were on course to follow Darren Appleton and Karl Boyes' success last year and become champions.
Chinese Taipei worked their way back into the match but could only win three of the next five racks to cut the deficit to three by making the score 7-4
But Pin Yi and Yu Lung turned on the style, winning five racks in succession to put them within sight of the title. Gray and Peach pulled one back but Chines Taipei closed the match out to win the 10th edition of the World Cup of Pool.
