Great Britain's Lizzy Yarnold has won gold at the Skeleton World Championships in Winterberg to complete the career 'Grand Slam' of major titles.

Yarnold, 26, added the world crown to her Olympic, World Cup and European golds after another record-breaking performance on Saturday.

Having set a new track record the day before, Yarnold lowered it again in the final of her four runs to clinch the victory in a combined time of three minutes 49.95 seconds.

Germany's Jacqueline Lolling took silver, 0.67seconds behind Yarnold, with Canada's Elisabeth Vathje third and 0.79seconds adrift.

"World champion as well as Olympic champion and European champion, it's all I ever wanted," a delighted Yarnold told the BBC.

Yarnold claimed the European title in Austria last month to add to her Olympic success in Sochi last year and her World Cup triumph during the 2013/14 season. She took silver at this season's World Cup.

Her compatriot Laura Deas was seventh in the World Championships on Saturday, with fellow Briton Rose McGrandle ninth.
