Badminton: Birmingham Lions star Fontaine Chapman looks ahead to the next live NBL

December 1st is our second NBL match of the season, it will be at home in the University of Birmingham's Great Hall and it's going to be broadcast live on Sky Sports. If this doesn't make a player excited I don't know what will!
It's always a great feeling knowing you've got the home support behind you so I can't wait to get onto court again and give it my all for the Lions.
After our first match win against Team Derby, the Lions are going for a similar approach against the University of Nottingham; fight for every point and enjoy ourselves out there.
We are aware that Nottingham have a strong team but we aren't focusing on them too much as it's all about what we can bring on the night.
The Lions have a great team spirit, we have no pressure on us and together with the support of our home crowd, I believe we are capable of another win.
High Pressure
The NBL has so far has been so unpredictable, there might be favourites going into a match but there isn't a guarantee on who will win. I love this about the new scoring system. It's exciting and gives the underdog a real chance.
After my really close match against the European bronze medallist, I feel really positive going into my next match. The scoring system may be short but it instantly creates a high pressure feeling for your opponent when they are expected to win.
You have to go for it right from the start and this suits my type of game, so my aim is to use this to my advantage and win as many matches as I can for the team.
So far my experience of the NBL has been brilliant, not only as a player but watching the second match night too. I loved using the PowerPlay and can't wait to use it again.
You really feel the excitement from the crowd as you walk over to the stand and retrieve the pink shuttle; you know your opponent is thinking about the two points that could turn the game around and before you serve, you can feel the atmosphere is electric.
I can't wait for the next match night to arrive now so I hope to see you all there supporting!
