Sky Sports Sportswoman of the Month: Five nominees for April

Five in the running for April's Sky Sports Sportswoman of the Month award.

Charlotte Dujardin:

Four-time Horse of the Year Show winner Charlotte Dujardin made history competing for Britain in France last month.

Dujardin became the first British dressage rider to win the Reem Acra FEI Dressage World Cup Final after a flawless ride on Valegro in Lyon.

The 28-year-old was a double gold medallist at the London 2012 Olympic Games and is also the current European Champion.

Dujardin also holds all three world records in dressage.

Dame Sarah Storey:

Dame Sarah Storey claimed two medals and a world record at the Para-cycling Track World Championships in Mexico last month.

Storey, who has claimed 11 Olympic Paralympic gold medals in her career as a swimmer and now a cyclist, was part of an 11-strong British team that travelled to Aguascalientes, Mexico.

She earned Britain's first medal in Mexico - winning a bronze in the C5 500m time trial. The 36-year-old followed that up by breaking her own world record in the final of the C4 pursuit.

Storey only returned to competitive action in November. She took a year away from the sport to give birth to her daughter Louise after winning four gold medals at the London 2012 Paralympics.

Lexi Thompson:

Young American golf sensation Lexi Thompson claimed the first major of her career at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in California last month.

The 19-year-old beat Michelle Wie to the crown by three shots after heading into the final round level with the 2014 Official Money List leader.

Her victory at Mission Hills made her the second-youngest winner of the tournament.

MLB side Miami Marlins invited Thompson to throw the first pitch in their game against the Seattle Mariners in recognition of her maiden major tournament victory.

Helen Housby:

Helen Housby left her mark on this year's ZEO Netball Superleague by scoring a last-minute goal to seal a dramatic title victory for Manchester Thunder.

The 19-year-old helped Thunder complete a comeback from 26-22 down at half-time to beat Surrey Storm 49-48 in the Grand Final at the Worcester Arena last month.

Goal Shooter Housby had a 94 per cent shot accuracy rating, scoring 37 goals from 39 attempts to pick up the ZEO player-of-the-match award.

It capped a fantastic month for the student who was called up to the England squad to tour Australia this month.

Remi Allen:

Remi Allen has made an instant impact following her move to Birmingham City Ladies from FA WSL rivals Notts County Ladies.

The midfielder made her competitive Birmingham debut at home to Arsenal Ladies in the UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-final first leg in March.

It only took the England Under-23 international 26 minutes to score a debut goal and she followed that up with a goal in her next game in the second leg of the tie as Birmingham reached the semi-finals.

Allen made it three in three after scoring in Birmingham's FA Women's Cup tie at Doncaster Belles.
