Great Britain Women’s Handball team lost their two internationals against the Faroe Islands but were encouraged by a stronger performance in the second match and some great individual showings.

GB lost the first match 16-31, despite creating a number of chances, but the Faroes recent international experience in the European qualifiers showed as they punished any mistakes.

The second meeting was a much closer affair, the Faroes running out 24-18 winners. Britain briefly led in the first half but were eventually undone as their opponents took control after the break.

Keeper Mariell Cooper impressed for GB in both matches, making a series of great saves.

Holly Lam-Moores, Kathryn Fudge, Zoe van der Weel and Anna Fuhrmann also looked sharp for the national side, while in the second match the whole team lifted their performance.

GB Women are set to be in action again in March in the next stage of the self-funded programme, when they gather for another camp as the build-up continues to the World Championship qualification process at the end of 2016.
