Weightlifter Zoe Smith wins November's Sportswoman of the Month

Weightlifter Zoe Smith has been named as the Sky Sports Sportswoman of the Month for November.

Smith claimed 32 per cent of the public vote, edging Scotland striker Jane Ross (30 per cent) to the award. Swimmer Jazz Carlin finished third after polling 23 per cent.

The Commonwealth 58kg champion, who broke two British records at last month's Weightlifting World Championships in Houston, Texas, spoke to Jane Dougall on Tuesday's Sportswomen Show on Sky Sports News HQ.

"I'm really overwhelmed and it's great to have the support of the British public behind me after my performance in Houston a couple of weeks ago," Smith said.

"Breaking the records were the icing on the cake for me. I'm really pleased to have got my name back in the record books.

"It's been a tough couple of months but it's been worth it."
