You, Me and the Apocalypse is coming to Sky 1 so prepare yourself...

Darts fans in fancy dress during the William Hill World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace, London.

If the apocalypse were coming, what sporting event would you quickly dash to for the final time?

Well, it is coming, but luckily only on the television. Sky 1's new show You, Me and the Apocalypse is a comedy drama about some friends' attempt to re-join their loved ones before the end of the world.

Starring Rob Lowe, Jenna Fischer, Megan Mullally, Mathew Baynton and Pauline Quirke this  bold, adrenaline-fuelled show centres around the last days of mankind.

It got us thinking about five sporting events we'd want to see if the apocalypse does ever come…

Premier League finale

Will there ever be another Sergio Aguero moment? If there is, you'd want to be there to see it.

One last trip to your football team, with a pie and a pint included, seems like the perfect way to spend one final sporting occasion.

Yes, your team will probably break your heart as they have done countless times. But it's not as bad as what's to come, is it?

World Grand Prix final

If you've only got one day left in this mortal realm, a night at the arrows would be a pretty great send-off. Throw in a few pints of the black stuff in Dublin, and you'll probably be ready for the end, anyway.

Phil 'The Power' Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and friends will descend upon the Irish capital for a thrilling week of darts, roaring their engines for the annual Grand Prix.

Darts must be the most fun-loving sporting occasion on the planet so forget your worries and watch these colourful characters at the oche.

Don't miss Sky 1's new show at 9pm on Wednesday!

Super Bowl

Members of the New England Patriots celebrate with the Vince Lombardi Trophy after defeating the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 in Sup

The showpiece event of American sport, the Super Bowl is always a glitzy and raucous affair like no other.

In 2016 it will be held in the San Francisco Bay Arena - not a bad location for your final moments before the apocalypse strikes. If the battle for the Vince Lombardi trophy is half as good as last year, when the New England Patriots edged the Seattle Seahawks, the Super Bowl would be a worthy choice.

And, don't forget, there's always a music concert at half-time!

WrestleMania

If the world is ending, you no longer need to hide your guilty pleasure!

The next WrestleMania, the 32nd edition of the WWE wrestling extravaganza, will be hosted at Texas' AT&T Stadium - the home of NFL side Dallas Cowboys and one of the world's most impressive venues.

So hurry, it will be your final chance to see Undertaker, Triple H and co in person.

US Open final

The famous Arthur Ashe court will undoubtedly become the most impressive tennis venue in the world when the next US Open rolls around.

The remarkable Flushing Meadows facility is getting a roof built over it, meaning the appeal of the Grand Slam just got better as the threat of rain disappeared overnight. Not to mention, it's in the heart of the Big Apple.

Just be warned that the eye-catching new roof that shields Andy Murray and co from the rain will not protect you from the apocalypse.

Watch You, Me and the Apocalypse on Wednesday at 9pm on Sky 1.
