PDC player suspended after awards dinner

The Professional Darts Corporation has suspended Londoner Jason Clark following his conduct at a recent awards dinner. Clark had been inducted into the PDC's Nine-Dart Club at the Annual Awards Dinner, following his perfect leg at the German Darts Championship. However, Clark's conduct at the Dorchester Hotel in London has led to him being suspended from competition. A PDC statement read: "The PDC have received a number of complaints over Jason Clark's conduct at the PDC's Annual Awards Dinner on Wednesday. "These have been passed to the Darts Regulation Authority, and the PDC Board of Directors has decided to suspend Jason Clark until the matter is resolved. "As such, he has been withdrawn from Sunday's Blue Square UK Open North-East Regional Final in Gateshead, with his opponent Eddie Lovely receiving a bye due to the rules of the tournament." PDC Chairman Barry Hearn said it was a tough decision to suspended Clark, but the PDC were duty bound to uphold a code of conduct for their players. "It is always tough to take this course of action, but the PDC Board of Directors are committed to upholding the highest possible standards of conduct from our players," Hearn said. Clark is ranked 45th in the PDC Order of Merit, and was a second round loser to Raymond van Barneveld in the recent World Darts Championship.
