Mark Lynch and Richie Hogan have been named the GAA/GPA All-Stars sponsored by Opel players of the month for April in football and hurling respectively.
Derry captain Lynch led the Oak Leafers to the Division One final with a number of fine displays during their National League campaign.
The Banagher clubman held off the stiff challenge of Dublin duo Bernard Brogan and Michael Darragh Macauley, who went on to pick up their second successive league title.
Kilkenny forward Hogan produced a superb performance in their league final win over Tipperary, scoring six points from play as the Cats claimed a third successive title.
GAA president Liam O’Neill said: “I would like to acknowledge the recommencement of the player of the month awards and the light they shine on the individual excellence.
“Mark Lynch enjoyed a super campaign with Derry, impressing over the course of their campaign and helping to power them to a final.
“Richie Hogan was no less influential in Kilkenny's march to another league title and both are deserving of awards chosen by their peers.
“I would also like to acknowledge Opel and their support of these accolades and I look forward to seeing a number of other worthy winners in the weeks and months ahead.”
Dessie Farrell, CEO of the Gaelic Players Association added: “I would like to congratulate Mark and Richie on being honoured for their displays by their fellow players.
“Derry enjoyed a fantastic league run after gaining promotion last season and Mark Lynch was a pivotal figure throughout the spring.
“We are well accustomed to outstanding performances from Richie Hogan but his display lit up a thrilling battle with Tipp in the league final.
“I suspect we are in for another incredible hurling championship this summer.”
