Sky and Premier Sports have agreed an exclusive channel distribution partnership in Ireland which will see Premier Sports' full suite of sporting fixtures available to Sky customers from this summer.
The move follows a previous announcement from Sky in October last year which confirmed Sky as the exclusive distribution partner for BT Sport in Ireland.
Sky will continue to be the ultimate home of sport with all the best sports available on the Sky Q platform, including every single televised Premier League game (233 games in total, 33 of which will be Saturday 3pm kick-offs exclusive to Irish viewers) ensuring customers never miss a kick across the whole season.
Other sports that Sky will make available to customers through the new arrangement with Premier Sports include action from Serie A, Eredivisie, Scottish FA and League Cups, Schoolboys Rugby, NHL, NASCAR, IIHF Ice Hockey and Champions Hockey League.
On top of all the action from the Premier League, Sky Sports in Ireland is already home to UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers, UEFA Nations League, the English Football League, all the golf majors, exclusive GAA All-Ireland Championship fixtures, Rugby Championship, Super Rugby, F1, NFL, NBA, WNBA and lots more.
From this summer, through its partnership with BT Sport, Sky customers will enjoy even more great sporting events with UEFA Champions League, Europa League, Heineken Champions Cup rugby, Premiership rugby, Moto GP, WTA tennis and world-class boxing.
This will be the first time Sky is able to provide BT Sport and Premier Sports to its customers directly as part of a Sky bundle or on a standalone basis.
And with so much live sport destined for Sky from this summer, Sky Q will deliver the ultimate viewing experience with brilliant sporting moments captured in Ultra HD. Sky Q's sports personalisation feature highlights the viewers favourite sports and teams, seamlessly integrating with the Sky Sports app, ensuring customers always know what's on and the latest breaking news.
JD Buckley, managing director of Sky Ireland, said: "This is fantastic news for Sky customers in Ireland who can now watch all their favourite sports under one roof. For the first time ever, we'll be showing every single Premier League game as well as Champions League, Heineken Champions Cup Rugby, all the golf majors and exclusive GAA fixtures. It's going to be a very exciting summer of live sport."
Mickey O'Rourke, CEO of Premier Sports, said: "Premier Sports will broadcast 53 Premier League games including all Saturday 3pm fixtures which have become such an important weekly fixture with Irish soccer fans. In addition, Premier will broadcast 10 games over St Stephens Day & the 27th December as well as 10 games mid-week in early December.
"Premier Sports also broadcasts Serie A, Scottish Cups, Schoolboys rugby, NHL and NASCAR, making Premier Sports a must-have for sports fans. Premier Sports is delighted to have entered into this partnership with Sky which means more viewers than ever will have access to all of the best sports content in one place."
Further details on pricing and packaging will be announced in the coming months.
