If you're a Blackburn Rovers fan then the Roger Croft memorial match is one you simply cannot afford to miss. Former Rovers defender Gary Croft has organised the game in memory of his father Roger and has invited a host of Rovers legends - including members of the famous 1994 Premier League winning side - to take part. Amongst the star names will be Tim Flowers, Colin Hendry, Garry Flitcroft, James Beattie, Kevin Gallacher, Marlon Broomes, Jack Lester, Cameron Jerome and of course Gary Croft. While Croft's Lincoln City manager Peter Jackson will be running things from the touchline! The match, which will see a Blackburn Rovers XI up against one of Roger Croft's former teams, takes place on Sunday 7th September. However it isn't just the football that will be keeping you entertained because the event which takes place at Olfields Sports and Social Club in Uttoxeter, also includes a fair! Among the attractions will be a number of beer tents, the chance to win a £1,000 name card and an auction for sporting memorabilia, including John Terry and Michael Owen shirts and a signed pair of Amir Khan gloves. Prior to the main event there will also be a warm up game between two local youth sides for those who just can get enough football! It promises to be a great day and who would want to miss the opportunity to see Colin Hendry and co. roll back the years.
