Former Labour PR man Alastair Campbell told Soccer AM that he couldn't wait to take part in Soccer Aid. The massive Burnley fan will be taking part in the charity game, which sees World Cup legends and top celebrities go head-to-head in an England versus The Rest of The World match at Wembley stadium on Sunday 7th September. As well as constantly winding up the Blackburn fans on the show, Campbell revealed what the game was in aid of and how much he was looking forward to lining up alongside the likes of, and Peter Schmeichel and Romario! "It's to raise money for UNICEF," he said. "The last one raised 2.6million quid and it filled Old Trafford. "Now Wembley is a bit bigger as you know so it might be a bit harder. But it's England against The Rest of the World and it's a mixture of proper footballers and people like me." Despite being born in West Yorkshire, Campbell will be representing The Rest of The World side because of his Scottish roots. "The last time I played with Diego Maradona," he said. "My parents are both Scot's so I've always been Burnley and Scotland and Yorkshire and England in cricket. "So I'm playing with The Rest of The World team and Kenny Dalglish is our manager! Gordon Ramsay is our captain and I can't wait to meet Brian Lara as well." Among the other celebrities are former Westlife singer Brian McFadden, presenter Patrick Kielty and Heroes actor Santiago Cabrera. But it is the legends that everyone will be turning up to see and the Rest of the World Team will have the fans on the edge of their seats with star names such as Peter Schmeichel, Romario, Jaap Stam, Paolo Di Canio and Franco Baresi. While the England team will be able to call upon the likes of Arsenal legend David Seaman, Sky Sports' very own Jamie Redknapp, Alan Shearer, Teddy Sheringham, Des Walker and Graeme Le Saux! - it doesn't get much better than that!
