Kelly's no pig!

Kevin Bishop told Soccer AM all about his new play Fat Pig and his stunning co-star, Kelly Brook!

It's all about the gags says Bishop

The hilarious Kevin Bishop dropped into the Soccer AM studio on Saturday morning to talk about theatre, Kelly Brook, and not being a very good impressionist! The star of the aptly named The Kevin Bishop show began life as a child star, but has made the notoriously difficult transition into a successful adult actor. He first came to our attention in the brilliant sketch show Star Stories before being given his very own show and now he is even trying his hand at a bit of theatre! He told Helen and Max what his new project Fat Pig was all about: "It's a play written by Neil Labute and it's about this guy that falls in love with this rather big lady and I play Carter his friend at work that's a bit of a mickey taker," he said. "It's just about how society tells us what we can and can't like and people we can go out with and people we can't." All very deep we thought! So to lighten the mood Helen asked if the stunning Kelly Brook would be playing the 'large lady' when she joins the cast next month! "No... I mean yeah she's methoding out a bit!" Joked Bishop. You can often catch her down at Dunkin' Doughnuts! "We thought it would quite funny to have Kelly on the poster and say Fat Pig! Quite thought provoking! "No, Kelly takes over in a couple of weeks from Joanna Page and I've met her a couple of times and she's actually really sweet, really nice... I told her back off though because obviously I'm married! "As long as she just keeps her hands to herself for a little bit then we'll all be alright!" Bishop has made a career of mimicking celebrities, but he revealed he doesn't think he's very good at it! The Manchester United fan explained that more emphasis was put on the comedy aspect of his show than the quality of the make-up because he didn't want to detract from the material. "My impressions are quite rubbish really!" He said. "There's one or two that are quite good but the others are just approximations really. "But we just wanted to make it funny. We didn't really care if it was exactly like them or not. "If you listen to Rory Bremner of Alistair McGowan they're so good at what they do, but it kind of detracts a bit and you sit there and go 'yeah, yeah if you close your eyes that could be him, that's bang on!', and you're not listening to the actual material as much you're just listening to the impression so it was all about the gags really."
