Sheffield Steelers forward Andrew Sharp has been banned for 20 games by the Elite League following an incident against Cardiff Devils.

Sheffield Steelers forward Andrew Sharp has been banned for 20 games by the Elite League following an incident at the end of their clash with Cardiff Devils on December 14. His match penalty for spearing has been changed to a match penalty for spearing to the head/neck area which constitutes a five-game suspension. Sharp has also been given an additional five-game ban for reckless use of the stick. Sharp's punishment for his match penalty for physical abuse of official is a three-game ban and the league has handed him another five-game suspension on review. The ban also includes automatic one game suspensions for the two match penalties. His punishment takes place with immediate effect and Sharp has been warned he will be banned for the remainder of the season should he repeat any of the offences.
