The fantastic Brian Blessed dropped into the Soccer AM studio on Saturday and took over the show!
Blessed returns to the delight of all
Two and a half years since his last infamous appearance on the show, Brian Blessed was back!
The man mountain, who is best known for his role as Prince Vultan in Flash Gordon, was once again the life and soul of a show, ignoring all fundamental rules of a chat show and erratically going from one topic to the next without being asked a single question!
In fact, it is was probably the easiest interview that Helen and Max have ever had the pleasure of conducting, because six minutes after entering the studio to loud applause from the audience, the Nottingham Forest fans, the crew and everyone else for that matter (including the cameramen), they still hadn't got a word in edgeways.
And that's the way it continued, not that anyone was complaining, on the contrary it is the reason that we all love the man and why he thoroughly deserves the sometimes overused epithet 'national treasure'.
However, to take one of his anecdotal gems and present it to you in a clear and concise form on this page is quite frankly an almost impossible task.
