Stephen Mangan told Soccer AM that his son will grow up a Tottenham fan, despite his wife's protests.
Actor starts brainwashing early
The last time Stephen Mangan was on the orange sofa he revealed that he 'stole' his son when he was just eight days old and took him to White Hart Lane!
The ardent Tottenham Hotspur fan sneaked the newborn baby out of the house without his wife's knowledge to begin brainwashing him at an early age.
A year on and the hilarious actor admitted his plan was coming along nicely, despite his wife's protest that their child should be able to choose his own team once he is old enough.
"My wife is from Liverpool and she's a big Liverpool fan so it's a struggle at the moment," he said. "Spurs better start doing better soon because it's not much of a contest at the moment.
"My wife wants to let him decide, but I'm not having that! He's a Spurs fan whether he likes it or not!
Busy
It has been a busy year for Mangan, who is best known for his role as Guy Secretan in the brilliant TV series, Green Wing.
His new comedy series, Free Agents, aired for the first time on Friday night, but Mangan told Helen and Max that even his hectic schedule couldn't keep him away from last week's north London derby.
"I'm old enough to remember us beating Arsenal in the league, that's how old I am," he joked. "It was 1999 if I remember rightly and Martin Keown got sent off.
"The match was a bit frustrating really," he added. "We had a magic five minutes when (Emmanuel) Adebayor went off and they lost a player, but we just couldn't break them down.
"Wilson Palacios was all over the place, like a madman. He was flying all over the pitch winning tackles left, right and centre... so he'll never do! We can't have that in a Spurs team!"
Despite new signing Palacios' best efforts the match finished goalless to leave Tottenham just two points above the drop zone and Mangan believes relegation is a real possibility for Harry Redknapp's team.
"I look around the pitch and there are so many brilliant players, but they're not winning at the moment unfortunately," he said.
"We're not putting in bad performances, but we just can't seem to get the points."
