Orton given rude awakening by King of Kings on Raw

With the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania approaching thick and fast, an action-packed episode of Raw once again had a huge effect on The Grandest Stage of Them All. As well as Kofi Kingston cementing his place in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, fan-favourite John Cena also found himself embroiled in a Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship. However, the most dramatic action of the night came away from the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena where Randy Orton was given a rude awakening. Sitting watching the action in his St. Louis home, the Legend Killer's Wrestlemania opponent Triple H busted into the Orton household and attacked the 2009 Royal Rumble winner. The attack came about after earlier in the night it was announced that Orton's "Legacy" Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase would face the King of Kings in a handicap match. However, when The Game's music blared out, the WWE was nowhere to be seen, handing the "Legacy" the win and prompting a few words of disgust from Orton from his living room.

Professional display

As the Legend Killer continued his tirade of verbal abuse, the doorbell began to ring, with increasing urgency. Then, a furious Triple H hammered down the door and chased Orton through the house, terrifying his wife and father along the way, before throwing his WrestleMania opponent through a window. As the fight gathered pace in the front yard, police officers arrived and took the WWE Champion away in handcuffs. Inside the arena, JBL defeated CM Punk to become the new Intercontinental Champion. After constantly bombarding Vickie Guerrero to hand him a title opportunity, the Straightedge Superstar took his chance with a professional technical display. Elsewhere, Rey Mysterio, Finlay & Christian overcame Kane & World Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison in an entertaining Six-Man Tag Team Match. Kofi Kingston was also victorious - a helping hand from the Rik Flair seeing him defeat Chris Jericho in a Money in the Bank Qualifying Match. Hall of Famer Flair strolled down the entrance ramp and distracted Jericho, Kingston pounced and claimed the pin he needed to earn his spot at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.
