Renewing rivalries

Revenge or repeat will be on the cards following the draw for Prizefighter: The Cruiserweights.

Cruiserweights aiming for glory

Old rivalries will be renewed following the draw for the next Prizefighter series. Tournament favourite Dean Francis will face Neil Simpson again, while Bruce Scott and John Keeton will meet for a third time as the cruiserweights get their crack at the £25,000 prize. As usual eight fighters will line-up for four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and the winner-takes-all final at Earl's Court and in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Tuesday. The two other quarter-finals see Terry Dunstan, the oldest competitor at the age of 40, and former Commonwealth champion Ovill McKenzie meet, while the line-up is completed by Mickey Steeds and Darren Corbett. The draw, was made aboard HMS Victory with the help of former cruiserweight world champion Johnny Nelson, who agrees with the bookies and is backing Francis as the favourite. But the former WBO champ also warned that his old mate from the Ingles' Wincobank Gym in Sheffield, Keeton, could cause an upset. "I ve got to lean towards an old stablemate of mine, John 'Buster' Keeton," he told Sky Sports News."I know he's training like a madman! "I think this is probably one of the best Prizefighters we've had to date. "Everyone of the fighters is a banger, they all believe they can win and somebody can beat somebody in this mix and they all seriously want to give it their all and rejuvenate their career."
