Legend Killer records another upset against his Backlash opponent

Randy Orton scored another major victory over Triple H in London on Monday ahead of the duo's clash at Backlash this Sunday. The Viper may have been found wanting on 'The Grandest Stage Of Them All' against The Game, but if RAW was anything to go by the federation could well have a new WWE champion by the weekend. Orton and Triple H squared off in a No Disqualification Match in England's capital on Monday night, with interference again coming from some familiar faces. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase came to Orton's aid after Triple H had stolen the advantage in the encounter and, despite the best efforts of Batista and Shane McMahon, The Legend Killer snatched the win with a lightning-quick RKO.

Rivalries

Elsewhere, Edge's unhealthy obsession with Backlash opponent John Cena continued as he interrupted The Champ's contest with Chris Jericho to devastating effect. The Rated-R Superstar mercilessly attacked the World Heavyweight champion to put a stop to his bout before a vicious Con-Chair-To sent Cena into unconsciousness just days before their scheduled Last Man Standing Match. The Ultimate Underdog Rey Mysterio failed to deliver what would have been an incredible victory against Big Show in his last appearance on RAW before moving back to SmackDown. But Mr. Money in the Bank CM Punk did score one triumph for the 'little guy' by overcoming another seven-footer in Kane. Countering a chokeslam, the Straightedge Superstar rolled up the Big Red Monster for the win.
Bombers
Chavo Guerrero's attempt to prove his worth as a wrestler on RAW met with short shrift from Batista, meanwhile. The Animal's Batista Bomb wrapped up victory in double-quick time and left the self-proclaimed Mexican Warrior both broken and humiliated. Beth Phoenix also failed in her attempt to beat Women's champion Melina before the recently drafted Diva leaves RAW for SmackDown. And Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat agreed to face off against Jericho again, this time at Backlash.
