'Taker returns to send a message to his Breaking Point opponent
The Undertaker made a dramatic return to Smackdown this week, which had devastating consequences for world heavyweight champion CM Punk.
On the latest instalment of Smackdown, general manager Teddy Long agreed to CM Punk's request of a non title main event match against Matt Hardy.
In what proved to be a physical match up, Hardy almost claimed victory over The Straightedge Superstar on a number of occasions, but in the end there was to be no winner.
As the match ensued outside the ring, Punk got the better of his opponent, culminating in a steel chair being placed around the neck of Hardy.
Punk then looked to re-enact what he had done to Matt's brother Jeff several weeks ago, and send Matt crashing into the ring post.
However, this time his plan failed as The Undertaker made a dramatic return and chokeslammed the world heavyweight champion through the announcer's desk at ringside before he could follow through with his attack on Hardy.
New champion
Also on Smackdown, Rey Mysterio's intercontinental championship was on the line against The Friday Night Delight John Morrison.
In an enthralling contest, which featured several near falls, both men pulled out all the stops to deliver one of Smackdown's finest matches to date.
Upon hitting a 619, Rey looked to have the match won but, still suffering the effects of a drop kick from earlier in the match, Mysterio was unable to capitalise, which ultimately led to Morrison regaining his stance and executing Starship Pain to claim victory and the title.
In tag team action, The Great Khali and Finlay took on arch rivals Kane and Mike Knox. The Irishman Finlay secured victory over Knox by striking a shillelagh to his opponent's head as Kane and The Great Khali battled outside the ring.
Scotsman Drew MacIntyre attacked R-Truth yet again as he made his way to the ring and insisted the attacks would continue until he is recognised as a force to be reckoned with.
The WWE Divas were also in tag team action as Maria and Eve Torres defeated the team of Natalya and Layla.
Will it be CM Punk or The Undertaker who gains the momentum heading into their submission match at Breaking Point next Sunday?
