Gremlins star Zach Galligan let slip to Soccer AM the secret behind Hollywood's belching sound effects!
Gremlins star reveals sound-effect secret
Gremlins star Zach Galligan dropped in on
Soccer AM to talk about his new film and let slip a secret about his very own TV burp.
Anyone of a certain age will be familiar with Galligan's most famous work - but it's a lesser known fact that the former child star has the most famous belch in the business.
A chance encounter with a sound recordist during his Gremlins days means you might have heard the New Yorker in action many times more than you've seen him.
He explained: "The sound effects people asked me to come in and do some Gremlin belching.
"Some other people heard it, liked it and put it in the Hollywood sound bank as the burp they use - it's really strange to be watching Seinfeld and hear your own burp coming out of Kramer!"
Exciting
Galligan pulled SPL also-rans Dundee United out of the hat when asked to choose a British club to support and - despite his enthusiasm - he looked a little non-plussed when told he was playing away at St Mirren on Saturday!
But the American actor was not short on information about his latest project, the pioneering UK thriller Cut which was filmed - all 77 minutes of it - in one continuous take.
He told Max and Helen: "It took about 18 takes - a lot of them had to be aborted around the 50-minute mark because people were making mistakes - not me!
"There were some really great ones where someone would trip running up the stairs. The closer you get to the end that's when people get nervous.
"It was actually one of my most exciting moments as an actor. I was coming over on the plane thinking 'we'll never do this'."
